What's not to like? You got more drama in the skies and the image is lighter and more detailed. My eye is really drawn in by the light from the horizon and it stays longer in the image. Maybe the saturation can be toned down a tad but that is a personal setting. I like this. Regards Ron.

Ron, here is a conservatively rendered tone mapped image. I tried a faux HDR but did not like the results. What do you think of the tone mapping?

Good comment Ron! I did not think detail extraction to be an issue with this image. The original is flat and has full tonal range. My exercise was to shift the tones relatively and add lighting drama. For this reason I was willing to let shadow detail go. Just for interest sake I will look at some tone mapping with a faux HDR. Original is attached. Thanks!

Good use of the wide-angle lens.... excellent details.... great atmosphere!!! Excellent photography and post processing.

You really lifted some tones to get the details that you got here Eb. I'd try some more blending, perhaps HDR processing to lift even more. I do like the sky but I think that their is more lost detail to recover in the building the dock and the boat. Regards Ron.
