I though this was a chimney, but in looking at other photos, I don't think it is -- I think it's just a sculptural feature (architectural feature?). In other words, I don't know what is is, but I think it looks cool.
Best to you, m'dear,
Maryanne

Hi John, I think the perspective fooled you a bit, it's not a tower of stairs, much smaller -- just a chimney with a sort of swirl detail. The architect decided to get creative and move beyond the traditional adobe style -- to good effect I think.
Thanks so much for commenting, I really appreciate the encouragement.

Glad you like this image Pawel. I think it's a chimney -- although I can't say I know for sure. As I mentioned to Michele, this house is a bit unusual, even for New Mexico, and I think the architect achieved a good effect.
Thanks so much for your comment, Pawel.

So glad you like this image, Michele. It is a house, but a bit unusual even for New Mexico. The designer decided to add some rather untraditional elements, and I think he achieved a good effect. The folks who live here are all artists.
Glad you like it, m'dear.

Thanks Nicole. I'm glad you like the adobe houses. I've been quite drawn to the architecture there -- everything is curved -- no straight line or hard angles. I find it soothing and beautiful. But the sun and the altitude take some getting used to. This was my 5th trip -- and I'm sure I'll go back again if I get the chance.
Thanks for commenting.
All the best,

Thanks so much, Minoo. I'm very partial to this area of the U.S. because of the light, the sky, and the color of the adobe structures. I fell in love with the region the first time I saw it -- which would be almost 15 years ago. Glad you like it too.
All the best,
Maryanne

Another POV of this amazing architecture Maryanne...I just love it ... It's not really anyones home (?)) or is It ??? I think Just natural rocks that have been carved ???? I am sort of confused but I really do like it a lot- The texture, color and crop all make this a wonderful image as is the first detailed one :)) 7/7 Take Care dear friend , Michele~
