Very funny, Randy.;) Usually, I would have cloned out the sign, but it was teeny in the photo, and most local folks know it's there. A framed print of this hangs in my bank. In fact, quite a few of my photos hang in my bank....permanently. When they remodeled years ago, they bought a bunch for the lobby, the boardroom and the executive offices. I was the Executive Assistant to the Trust Officers before I quit in 1984. The bank President actually had me come to his house to photograph his view of the Willamette River from his backyard for his office. I also have large framed photos in several other businesses in Salem and Dallas.
This is one of the most common views of the South Falls.

My grandparents lived in Silverton and one thing I had never done is take the time to go see the falls. Some day I will have to do that. This is a view I haven't seen before. Remember the song Signs?

Thank you so very much, Walter! I do have a digital camera now, a Nikon D80 that I am just learning to use. But I have hundreds of slides that need scanning, and still have my Nikon N90 and several rolls of film.:)
There was a time when there was just Fujichrome 50 and Fujichrome 100, not any other designation. I've shot a lot of Fujichrome Sensia, but no Astia. Now I have some Velvia 100.

Hi Shirely! Well, I think that you and I are going to be very unhappy when that inevitable final roll of film is made; hopefully not for many years to come. You mention Fujichrome 100, but is this Astia? Color looks great!
I love your sense of composition in this photograph. The falls are balanced well by the bright yellow tree on the right. Nice shutter speed selection, too.
If this were mine I would have edited out the small white posts along the top left of the precipice. But still, this is a great photograph. Well done! Regards.:)

This was film, and I usually set aperature priority and let the camera set shutter speed, but I don't keep records, or always remember. Yes, I used a tripod, since the exposure is usually longer than I would want to hand hold, and I am a shaky person.:)
