About This steam powered wench is displayed at the same museum as the drive shaft driven train I posted a day ago. This unit is moved into a central location on a mountain and secured by stakes and chains to tree stumps. This unit has 4 different wenches that can be used for pulling cut trees from the forest around the wench. The largest trees are put on a skid rail made of smaller trees and pulled by this unit up to a location where they can be loaded onto a narrow gage train for transportation to the saw mill.
