Thank you very much for the reply, Ahmed! I also think that the top crop makes it feel much deeper. My personal choise would be rather the top one, but I can't really decide yet.
Thanks again and best wishes,
Nick

Hi Nick, you are right! Its amazing how much a little crop can change an image. The top image here with the crop from the top, gives depth. My personal choice here is the one with the crop of the water below. Its very beautiful! Regards, Ahmed

Thanks a lot for the nice comment, Andre! It is strange why the blueish tones make us assume cold, but it is also not all kinds of blue. I think that those containing also some greyish amount of hue look cold but the more pure and clear ones, like for example the blue of the sky of a summer day make us assume a rather warm "air".
It could have to do with the fact that though blue carries more energy than red, this energy belongs to frequencies that our tissue can't use for warming up, since it is the lower frequencies that activate vibrations and rotations of chemical bonds, which is actually what we feel as warmth and rising temperatures.
Best wishes,
Nick

Many thanks for the nice detailed comment and the suggestion, Ahmed!
Well, let's have a look! I did two crops as you suggested. They look very different to each other and also very different to the original image. Any preferences?
Amazing to see how a little crop can change an image!
Thanks a lot,
Nick

It was that rather dark and perhaps a bit frightening water that made me take this one, Dave. Thanks a lot for the nice comment,

Hi Nick, I do like the bluish hue to the whole image. I've always thought that kind of toning suits a winter scene nicely. It just looks colder. Andre

The bluish hue here suits the winter icy atmosphere very nicely! Nice clarity throughout. And thats a very beautiful scene. I feel if you could crop a bit from the top or the bottom, it would be even better as it looks a bit centered. I like this shot! Regards, Ahmed
