Dear Avi, I was lying on my belly, before she was taken away we had 50 short cms. between each other. Like rear view mirrors lenses should come with a warning "Warning, objects are closer than they appear" :-)

Thanks Pete for your thoughtful comment. I agree that the focus should be on the eye; I don't have many opportunities of photographing a snake lurking towards me; it was more important to get the DoF correct and I took my chances in reducing the area in focus. I believe that I was using MF as AF is always troublesome when shooting at ground level.

Great use of DoF but I think you just missed the point of focus which appears sharper on the nose instead of the eye, something I have often been guilty of myself. This often happens if you use AF instead of MF. Nice capture though,
