Avi -- If you settle on a book, like the one by Kelby, let me know what you think of it. I am always looking for a fresh approach and sometimes different authors click for different readers in terms of style and level of detail. At this point. However, I am going to stick with publications updated for CS3. I recently upgraded and find the new features in CS3 well worth while. --Best regards, Jan

In fact, there IS, Jan. My good friend Deb has suggested a book by Scott Kelby. It is titled : "The Photoshop CS2 Book for Digital Photographers". Since I know 0 about PS, I wanted to get as many opinion as I could. Thanks for all your help !!!
cheers ! Avi

Thanks, AJ. The ghosting doubled the available hands on board to both cook and wash. Then when they are finished ---- POOF -- they are gone. --Jan

Avi -- When I first started using Photoshop I purchased "Photoshop CS2 for Dummies" by Peter Bauer. I supplemented that with the Adobe PS CS2 User Guide. The new Adobe CS3 User Guide version is over 800 pages and I purchased it when I upgraded to CS3. The User Guide is good documentation and reference but the Dummies book or similar publications help a lot with the Tips and Tricks and techniques angle. I do not consider myself very accomplished in PS but I bet there are many of our USEFILM friends out there that would have better ideas about helpful books. --Best to you, Jan

Long time since I've heard that one, Jan. Makes me wonder what they've all been eating / drinking / smoking. Or is this just a way to get everyone to help with the washing up? A great experimental effect...

Avi -- Forgot to mention that I used the lens distortion feature to slightly elongate and distort the image vertically to exaggerate the distance of the moved image a slight bit. --Jan

Thanks for commenting, Avi. I used the new PS CS3. I selected the body image segments with the new Quick Selection too, adjusted Refine Image option and then moved the selection down and slightly to the left. That left a blank spot or cutout on the canvas which I filled in with the history brush to restore a ghostly version of the image that I moved. --Best to you, Jan

:) :) What a drag it is getting old.
"Kids are different today," I hear ev'ry mother say Mother needs something today to calm her down And though she's not really ill There's a little yellow pill She goes running for the shelter of a mother's little helper And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day.
