Wow. Awesome shot and colouring Ann. I can just see that on my wall. I could quite happily doze off imagining I am out there on that ship.

Hi Tim, I've actually got Photomatix but haven't been able to get any good results from it yet. I seem to do better with a plugin from Fred Miranda called "Velvia Vision". I've only got PS7 at this stage so don't understand the Linear Contrast reference. I'll keep practising. I've seen such excellent results with HDR. Cheers.

Excellent capture of the tall ship, Ann! Great colours and mood created, and I like the breaking waves in the foreground to add interest. Dave.

G'day Ann,
This one would be the bomb in HDR. Forgive me if you know the basics already but:
1. Shot in RAW, if possible bracket exposures but even one RAW works ok sometimes. 2. I use Photomatix, you can goggle this and download a free trial. Then just play with the sliders. I haven't worked these out properly yet so just speand ages playing til it looks ok. 3. Then PS, I find that often Linear Contrast, then light layers work well.
Cheers, Tim
