About An almost perfect spiral on a very tiny spider web, only made visible to the naked eye by some dewdrops early in the morning.

Taken with the 105mm Micro Nikkor and the Panagor Macro converter combination + built-in flash. Slight crop for composition, slight adjustment of saturation, sharpness, contrast and brightness in PS.

A short report on the conditions might help: The magnification ratio about 4X life size, max DoF about 1mm, difficult locality enforcing a handheld shot (your heartbeat creates movement at this magnification!), a slight breeze which distorts the web slightly. I took about 30 photographs - this is the best of the lot. Regards and thanks for visiting!

Great shot. I like background colors and spiral composition of the dewdrops. Thanks for your comment, it's the highest recognition.

Absolutly beautiful. Captured so well. so simple, beautiful, delicate...
I have been looking for an image like this, the best shot I've found so far. The off centre of the web make for a more interesting perceptive.
Great shot
Vanessa

Excellent capture. I can feel the pain you have taken to capture this moment.Dew drops reflecting colors, look like crystal ball.BG made it more catchy.

Thanks for sharing.

OK, well after learning that conditions I must admit that it is almost a perfect shot, with the critique a bit unfound. I am even more amazed now. I would never have achieved that. Very well done!

Stef

Joggie, if you could rent me your eye for one day or two!! The composition is only perfect, the geometric pattern fashinating, the shining silver drops hypnotize my look. But the background Joggie ...!! I would have it for all my floral picture. Direct in my fav. of course.
Take care.

Fantastic shot, excellent 'pearls' like water drops on the spider's net...and at some parts really the drops looks like being at the air...as the spider's net goes soooo thin. Very good image Joggie!

Thanks James - you are right, the threads are barely visible - the biggest drop in this photo is about 1/4 of a milimeter in diameter. Regards.

Thanks Stef - I agree with your remark on the "soft" drops although I thought the unique pattern warranted an upload. A short report on the conditions might help: The magnification ratio about 4X life size, max DoF about 1mm, difficult locality enforcing a handheld shot (your heartbeat creates movement at this magnification!), a slight breeze which distorts the web slightly. Hello Oom,

Lovely shot. Well composed, lovely clarity and colourful background! The only thing that bothers me a tiny bit is the drops in the top lefthand side that is slightly out of focus.Otherwise perfect. Top class work as usual. Well Done!

Groete,
Stef
