About I wanted to play around with natural light and natural filters I had in the house. I found both red and yellow clear plastic eggs - my first thought was to put the eggs inside and filter that way - after playing around I opened the egg up and filtered the light through the plastic onto various eggs - several wooden and marble eggs. I love the shadowing effects and the coloring that was created by my "filter."

Ah, I guess I always see natural light as being more diffused. The light here seemed harsh, like close fill flash. Photographers use coloured gels in pretty much the same fashion as you've attempted here but entirely covering at least one light source. Thanks for the explanation.

thanks again for your comments Rina. I was trying to get a different perspective of an egg. In this case, a marble egg to create a planet type feel.

I used natural light and had a clear red egg that i filtered the natural light through onto the egg.

I was trying to get a completely different perspective of the egg - and I actually was trying to only have the center plane of the egg in focus.

I must have read and re-read your details about ten times. I can't seem to follow the point of the experiment... I can't tell that there is any natual light at all.

The dof is far too shallow, meaning, the focal point is just this tiny little plane on the center of the egg and everything else is out of focus and quite unattractive.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I'd just like to know where you're coming from here :)

Cheers,
Rina.
