About Tai Shan is a twenty-one month old Giant Panda cub housed at the Smithsonian's National Zoo in Washington, D.C. along with parents Mei Xiang and Tian Tian currently under a sweetheat of a deal ten-year lease program (at a cool $1M per panda per year). Since Tai Shan was born at the zoo, he gets to stay 24 months (the most critical survival period) before a return first-class flight to China, all expenses paid. Everyone should be as fortunate to see him while you can for free in D.C. Photographed in mid-morning sunshine under brilliant blue Springtime clear skies.

Wonderful pandabear! They look so cuddly, but they can actually be very fierce.
Good with these programs, but are we going to held these animals in captivity always because we take up all land? A rather pessimistic future then for these animals that should run free.
Take care
Annemette
