About Taken on high speed color film, but I have converted to B&W and added even more grain and a soft glow.

"Women have loved before as I love now;
At least, in lively chronicles of the past --
Of Irish waters by a Cornish prow
Or Trojan waters by a Spartan mast
Much to their cost invaded--here and there,
Hunting the amorous line, skimming the rest,
I find some woman bearing as I bear
Love like a burning city in the breast.
I think however that of all alive
I only in such utter, ancient way
Do suffer love; in me alone survive
The unregenerate passions of a day
When treacherous queens, with death upon the tread,
Heedless and wilful, took their knights to bed."

Edna St.Vincent Millay

Thank you so very much, dear Aniko! Yes, she has those sad, haunting (or haunted) eyes that are what made me want to photograph her.

An extremely powerful image Dear Shirley!

I actually find it a tad disturbing! I don't know why... and I am not saying that as a bad thing nor in any way being rude or detrimental toward the lovely model.

Yes, I like it very much. It is "hauntingly" beautiful with that hint of sorrowful tragedy... You have worked this image so well, my friend, and the poem goes with it brilliantly!

Hugs~
Aniko :)

Shirley, I had problems with my computer so I have lost many good pictures. Beautiful this too, for the look and eyes first and then for the excellent composition. Very fit the poetry chosen, Shirley.

Ahhh...dear Luis, I do love the poem that you have included with your comments...beautiful...touches my soul deeply. Who is the author? Actually, I did not want too many details in the background to distract from the girl.:)

Is a good portrait...in this case at the backround i can't see details, but in my home the monitor isn't perfect like mine officeĦs.- And what I can says about this excellent american contemporary poetry...also a little mysterous..yes...wjhat do u think about this poem:

The Dream
Love, if I weep it will not matter,
And if you laugh I shall not care;
Foolish am I to think about it,
But it is good to feel you there.
Love, in my sleep I dreamed of waking, --
White and awful the moonlight reached
Over the floor, and somewhere, somewhere,
There was a shutter loose, -- it screeched!
Swung in the wind, -- and no wind blowing! --
I was afraid, and turned to you,
Put out my hand to you for comfort, --
And you were gone! Cold, cold as dew,
Under my hand the moonlight lay!
Love, if you laugh I shall not care,
But if I weep it will not matter, --
Ah, it is good to feel you there!
For me really wonder about this image.- Kiss and HUgs. LUIS:) ;)

Shirley -- The grain and low key approach produces a soft, dreamy and lovely effect. Quite beautiful.
The passage you site is perfect for the picture.
