About I love sunrises and I also love eggs for breakfast, sunny-side up. I thought I would combine some of the things I like to remind me of the great breakfast I had last weekend while watching the ocean out the window. The beach was covered with patches of snow.
Blue filter, curves adjusted, edge sharpening applied.
The egg image was taken from the Ulead PhotoImpact 12 image library.

Bek -- Eggads! I am shell-shocked by your egg yokes.
I like them so much, I will paste them in my white photo albumen. They all panned out well but my brain is fried from laughing so much.
Thanks!!!

Jan The Man Silly Hoffman, what an eggsentric image!
This looks like a fight in a diner at breakfast time...someone slinging the egg across the room to land eggsactly on the lovely beach scene hung on the wall.
How clever of you to hatch this idea, very original.
You should print up a few of these and get people to shell out big for the priveledge to hang one on their wall at home. You would be carton in the money....must stop now, am cracking up!!
cheers, Bek

You the man, Doyle!
Even I could not read all of these comments without becoming overly eggi-tated.
Sorry about touching a nerve on the horizon but I just could not help myself; I had to tilt it. It was so straight as taken that it was driving me nuts.
As for the borrowed egg, at least I acknowledged it!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your great comments.

Whew! That's it! I can't believe I did it but I did. Yes, I read EACH and EVERY word of EVERY comment. That's a lot more 'PUN'ishment than any sane person could be expected to endure! Fortunately, I see comments from photographers but none from sane people!

A fun image for St. Patty's Day . . . and shame on you for a borrowed egg when you freely admit that you love eggs sunnyside up for breakfast . . . you egg-i-cidal maniac! At the very least . . . you could have immortalized and utilized one of them before they were 'internalized'!

I'll not re-mention the horizon . . . but I AM telling my therapist that you tilted it to goad me as you know it to be a pet peeve . . . one of the few pets I have that cannot fly! Perhaps MY therapist can contact YOUR therapist . . . I don't know what they'd say to each other . . . probably just have lunch, double bill each of us, print out our photos and hang them up at home. LoL!

UF wouldn't be the same without you Jan . . . Keep it up my friend . . . :)

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Totally agree Jan ~~GRIN~~ I honestly didn't notice the tilt... LOL... Never even looked for it... It was your image as a whole that tickled my palette... For me, to get it right doesn't always mean it has to be *right*... :)

~~GRIN~~... If there were no play, experimention and different perspectives, we'd be bored silly... and the world would be a much duller place because of it... :)

Thank heavens for the *sunny-side up sunrises* in the world... :)))

Onie...

Sorry, Jan, but in my lexicon, "beaches" and "snow" don't really belong in the same sentence. As a true-blue SoCal beach bum, that's just not right.

This is a cool composite, and nice turn of a phrase.

Thanks, Mel. I first finished up "on the level" but it did not look right. No yoke, I changed the horizon to improve it. I do like the sliding egg idea though and that makes sense to me. Maybe that is what my inner thoughts were egging me on to do.

  0

Jan Hoffman Jan Hoffman   {K:39467} 3/17/2007
AJ -- Thanks so much for your comments.
You found me out; I intentionally tilted the horizon by slightly less than two degrees. The original was dead on. If you go back through some of my photos you will see I am usually right on the mark. When I was working on this one I decided to tilt it for two reasons: (1) I often make comments about the horizon and wanted to see who else I could bug; and (2) I actually felt that the tilt improved the final result with a bit of minute optical "tension".
No need to apologize about being "craggy"; that is a good thing and there should be more of it!
"Nervous" is a good thing too; you never know when some nutter next to you is about to go bananas.
--Best to you, Jan

AJ Miller AJ Miller   {K:49168} 3/17/2007
I'm intrigued how your mind works, and your "about" makes me more and more nervous... :)

I love the colours and the "reflection" of the egg in the water, but I'm going to have to pull you up for that sloping horizon! And why did you not shoot the egg yourself? Alright, I'm just being craggy...
