Loved your Travel photos, you know you should really make an album in this site, www.trekinu.com .

like this presentation,
http://www.trekinu.com/viewtrek.aspx?trkid=mquiko5rgn2bbjt

its free and you can share with us the places you traveled to on the map. takes 3-4 minutes...
(this is NOT a site to replace useFilm, it's for sharing albums with music and send to friends and share here with your photos)

I like the way you think. :) I tend to shoot instinctively many times, to capture a mood. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

This powerful image connects with the "explorer myth" - our instinct to set out on an unknown journey. The centred composition IMHO has a specific effect: to remove any sense of movement (which may be why Jim doesn't like it) but in this photo it is just right - to make time stand still, as you feel when poised to undertake some scary action (like diving off a high board). So although the shadow points the way she will be going the picture tells us she is still considering whether to set out, telling herself "It is just a short walk" but knowing it may take all her life.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate centered images (but you probably already know that) Then again... it is not always about me... though I tend to think it should be.

(ps... nice shot... just a bit toooooooo centered for me)

Great pov Rebecca and good choice of tonal range. I like the pose in this "desert" place. The shadow is well seen..
Congrats

The choice of B/W makes this an excellent photo. Del.

Oh, sure, no problem. I tend to be pretty trigger happy when it comes to the camera. I usually shoot several shots of some subject even if I think the first one is great. Didn't always work so well when I shot film.

I see what you mean, and you're right. I wish I'd taken time to get back and look more and try that. Oh well.. this will remind me next time. Thank you for stopping in and helping.

I like your atmosphere and toning here, Rebecca! You've created a mood with both the selection of b/w and the background scene the woman appears to be walking to. I agree with James if you'd left a little more room on the right for her to "walk into" and complete her shadow it would be perfect. Well done!
Dave.

I like the pose and the scene, but the subject is too centered for my tastes. I think I might have placed here in the lower-left corner area so as to use her shadow and incorporate the background textures.
