Hello Sylvia, This is beautiful, Thanks a lot for the information. I sould say I was very close to it and read this page on google but only the top - somehow must have missed it. Funny how one comment sent me to a little journey of search and by that I found and learn so much about the places I was in Iceland back then on June 2005. Thank you for taking me back :) cheers gali.

Hi Gali, I found this on Google could this be the statue? "On the left hand side, as one approaches the Cathedral, can be seen a monument to the work of the Order of Saint Joseph's Sisters of Chambéry, for the Sick and Children, in Iceland. It was unveiled on the 17 September 2000. The title is "Köllun" which can be translated as "Calling"or "Vocation". The Saint Joseph Sisters ran schools and hospitals. They worked in Iceland for over a hundred years, but they finally left the country in 2001." Sylvia

Hello Sylvia, Thank you so much for your comment on this one. I am truly not familiar with any information as for this statue. I found this statue standing outside the Christ The King Cathedral in Reykjavik when I took this photo But there was no details about it in my books or when I looked it up later on. http://www.nat.is/Churches/christ_the_king_cathedral.htm :) thanks, gali.

Hi Gali, I like this photo, it is so interesting. I would love to know the story behind the statue. I get a feeling of serenity and sadness at the same time, a lovely evocative picture 7++++++++++++++ Sylvia
