Dear Ardalan You´re right that tombstones should always remind us of the great joy that we actually live and breath, that we have a chance to make a mark in life, that we can sit here right now and communicate is precious. Thank you for being so warmhearted and positive. I´m usually an optimist, but I´ve been rather sad lately and then it´s good being around happy people even if it´s only in cyberspace:-) Best wishes Annemette

Dear Wayne Thank you for leaving such a heartwarm comment. I agree with you fully. We don´t really remember senators and famous scientists, but loved ones are always bright and clear to us no matter how far away they might be or how long time they have been dead. Whatever we strive for we must keep up good friendships, laughter, empathy and the will to do good. Take care Annemette

Very lovely shot. You've captured good detail here, and the composition is excellent with the stones of two young people in the foreground. The inclusion of other stones in the background makes you think about how many others have come and gone, each with his own story.
Very well done.

When it is ended by death,It will be hard to realize why we should DIE. Why it should be like that. If we die is the life really over,or there would be a new birth... To me, we can learn a lot from death, and appreciate our moments and every single part of our body. To say thanks to every moment we can breath through and to be grateful of our creator that have given us this one in kind opportunity to be a small and shining member of the universe, talking to others, feeling them, touching things... Look at gravestones are a sparkle for unconscious minds that life is not gonna last for ever, and one we should leave... It's a blow into us that HEY YOU, "TAKE IT EASY,and DON'T LET SADNESS OCCUPY YOUR LIFE, TRY TO ALTER IT TO HAPPINESS" Yes,dear Annemmette, what you have taken here, is absolutely expressive and carrying a very rich meaning.
Thanks a lot for that, All the bests it could be for you.
Ardalan.

Annemette, How fitting this image is with my image you so dearly commented on. I feel, the best way to leave our mark is to treat each other with compassion and kindness as often as humanly possible. After we die, people don't comment on what empire we have created, or how successful we were. They always reffer to what kind of person we were. How many people did we go out and touch. How many people did we help when they were in need. These are the things that leave our trace. Sure there are numerous leaders, kings and emporers whose names have stood for thousands of years but, again, it is what they did for others that we remember.
Thanks so much for sharing this thought provoking image with us and for your words of wisdom! The contrast texture and tone are all very nice!

Annemette -- The texture and color of these tomb stones makes an interesting picture and the image takes on a special meaning of its own. It looks like in this case either brothers separated quite a bit by age died about a year apart or a young father died a year before his son. Either way a tragedy to the family. You have an excellent eye for capturing meaningful images. --Best to you, Jan
