About I've been out of the photographic loop for a few weeks now. Kind of disheartening, but alas...my job has had me busy.

This is Desiree...she posed as I walked by the train the other day while the kids were playing at recess.

I don't really mind this crop, but I think I prefer to have her torso and hips in the image to create flow and make her less static. (see above for comments on overexposure)

Thanks!

Thanks a lot, Doyle for your feedback. I had to make a choice with the exposure in this image. I chose to bring out the details in the face and not worry about the slight overexposure in the shirt. Honestly, I have always been the kind of photographer that doesn't mind a little brightness in images...seems to make it more realistic for me...like looking at a white shirt in direct sunlight would seem anyway.

Thanks a lot for your meaningful comments!

Was looking into some interesting crop variations . . . losing the oversat area and lining her into the rule of 1/3s . . . lots of possibilities . . . but thought I'd share this one with you. Again . . . well done!
Jacob this is (IMO) the best of the group. Awesome tones and perfect B&W conversion. Desiree is pretty and has such a natural smile . . . and your range here from the dark to the light is very good. A little overexposed on the lower left shirt . . . but the payoff is the perfectly balanced tones in the face - even nicer with the dappled light. Nicely done my friend!

Thanks a lot, Dave. I had to do a lot of tonal adjustment in Post to get the train where it is. Stock, it was WAY to predominant and overpowered the entire image. I'm glad you approve of the results! :-D

Nicely framed in the cab of the train, Jacob! A great expression, and you've got beautiful b/w tones here.
Dave.
