It's nice image and also great quality for just a compact camera, yea, all compact have lots of problems as we cannot use smaller appertures like f/12 or even f/16 for better clarity in long distances but here you manage very nicely the conditions.
About that you say, yes, it works as an empty sky that takes big area of the image isn't so worthy, a panoramic shape at landscapes like that always adds in 'richness' of the image.

Hi Annemette,
Yep it is a lot of wood , an entire forest almost that has floated onto the beach. This was the result of cropping the sky ....
The original picture is 3 or 4 pictures back.
Thanks for looking Annemette,
Best wishes,
Michele~

Fascinating beach, Michele - is that wood that has floatet up on the beach? Yes, I also crop the sky either slightly or completely away when wanting to emphasize the size of mountains. Without knowing it you might want to move closer to the wood and water still from a low perspective and then crop the sky almost away. I donīt know if it will work though:-)
Take care over there:-)
Annemette
