Thank you for your comment. I quite liked this shot and will probably crop it a bit. The only thing I did special was survive the wretched weather! :)
With the high wind and rain, this was a lucky shot. The blur is water/fog on the lens and I agree the hot light in the store front detracts a bit. Good catches and thanks again.

I like this quite a bit. The contrast between the light mass of girls and the dark background is very nice. The center of the image seems to be in softer focus. That's probably because clear plastic blowing in the wind and rain is not a very sharly defined object. I think this enhances the image, providing a textural contrast between the center of the image and the top third. Did you do anything special to achieve this?
A couple minor issues: One thing that bothers me is the blurry patch in the middle of the bottom edge. I thought that might just be a reflection on the pavement, but it extends to the middle girl's shoe. Makes me think there was a drop of water on the lens, or something in the way. Also, the flarring light at the top I'm not sure about--it's a bit distracting.
