About It was raining outside...so I decided to scope about what I had in the house...I couldn't decide which fork photo I liked better either so there are 2 of those - comments please...just not sure if I have the attention to detail or crop done in the right place...anyway the brass band and mask are in my house, relics of travels...

LOL... Just read the high tech macguyver comment... Sounds just like here... light from window... kitchen sink, bathroom towel, paper for backdrop... wheat bag (mines lavender scented, keeps me calm LOL)...

~~GRIN~~ Sandra... Sorry, bit late... What I meant by deeper arc is...

The same set up that you have now, background, camera disance from paper etc...

now...

The bandsman closest to frame, keep him there but turn his right shoulder a fraction further away from the camera...

Bandsman no.2... take him back a little to same level as Bandsman no.1's right shoulder...

creating a slightly deeper arc thus a little more space from bottom of frame to Bandsman no.2...

Sandra... This is just a thought ~~grin~~, not gospel... as we all view a set up differently...

and I'd still come and dance if they are playing something that won't get my feet tangled... :)

Val, I don't think you asked enough questions ;)

These pint sized wooden critters are from Germany, sehr gut! The light was from my rainy reading room window. As for the paper, you know I was going to use other paper and then I got distracted...I had picked up that tip from one of the articles I read...but shhh, this high tech stuff I am using is unreal....white sheets of paper, light from a window, point and shoot camera, and a beanbag to prop myself on....macguyver!! :)

Thanks Onie..I'll give it a try when the weather clouds over again...so you suggest these dudes on the right but facing east? Bearing in mind these little critters are about 3cm tall!! And what do you mean by deeper arc? The background?? Need to know here!!! :)

Sandra... :) We get a little *thingy* when the weather won't let us out...

Great idea... There is just enough space for some dancers to join in... Wonder how it would look with the gentleman on the right, at right angles to the camera, profile... or, a slightly deeper arc... Just a thought... :)

Whichever way, beautiful music is shared ~~GRIN~~...

Are these two guys from Tirol or is it Germany? Clever use of a simple sheet of paper for a background. The light was from rainy window? Diffuse and soft. By the way, did you use other lists of paper as reflectors - just to fill in the shadows? That is a simple and effective way to overcome the wickness of a single light... too much teaching? Val (sic!)
