To Keith Naylor: thanks for your comments, and here is my reply... I'm not sure if I agree with you about the titled horizon - I can't actually see the horizon due to the hills in the background, so maybe this is just a general fault in the composition of the shot, by leading the eye to think it's titled. But I will experiement in Photoshop and see how it looks. The original 6 megapixel image is sharp and in focus, so I think it's the reduction in size and dimensions that makes it appear to be blurry in usefilm. But if you still think that it's a bit blurry, then it's probably because I took it by hand, and I'm a big camera shaker! ) But I have a tripod, so I just need to take it with me!
Stephen, two small points which would improve the shot - the horizon is just a tad tilted to the right I think, a quick crop in PS would fix that. An I'm not sure the sharpeness of focus is at an optimum here. Neither the foreground not the coots/moorhens are distinguishable. Was this handheld or did you use a tripod? the slightest handshake can have this effect. By the way, go have a look at Denaby Ings, there are some good photos to be captured there, and its local to you. Regards Keith
