Stopped doing it for fun a long time ago!
Just finished a Masters in New Media (thats the sort of course you need to do, now that photography is dead :), which has taken up the last three years and now I create 'interactive' and multi media content for web.
I explain that to friends as, the annoying stuff that slows down your web surfing experience :)
Check the exciting banners on my work website www.csiro.au
Just about to exhibit my China images next week. Hopefully someone will appreciate my 'art' and buy the bl##dy things.

Thanks David. Does this mean you are no longer working or no longer doing it for fun? Considering doing a course - most seem to involve film photography which I'm not so keen on. Day job as a marketing officer is paying the bills so not branching out just yet but would some day like to earn a living doing travel photography if there is such a thing!

Fantastic image - looks like you have some pretty expensive lenses David. Very jealous!

Excellent details David.
Looks like that MP65E lens is a must have. Congrats, great macro work.

Very sharp capture.
I also use an MP-E but with an eos 20D that offers a little more DOF than the 5D.

Compliments.

Hi Derek
Would you believe its just a common garden millipede, and not an alien life form :)
Attached is the full shot of the beast.

Hi Daniel
Thanks, its an amazing lens.
Only stops down to f16, so that’s as much DOF as I'll ever get for that magnification.
Not easy to shoot when the insect is barrelling along a leaf at high speed, and won’t stop to pose either!
:)

I love pictures like these, it makes you wonder why we have to look towards the stars when we have aliens right here!
