Thanks for the suggestions. I like your crop! I took a number of these shots and found it difficult to pick which ones to upload. (my internet kept saying CONNECTION FAILED whenever I'd go to any website, grr) I shall take a look at these again.

Hey Carlen! I like these two shots as the colors are superb! I agree with Doyle on the cropping issue, however. I think the negative space and dark table are a little overwhelming in the lower right. I like his crop better.
However, I do like your photo as is! The d.o.f. draws your eyes from foreground to background quite well. I can almost smell the gourds!
Well done, and keep it up! :-D J

Larry's right Carlen . . . Excellent DOF indeed! This is certainly a better shot in the gourd series and also a good entry for the Fall color project. Very cool!
Now, if I might suggest something. Not that this shot isn't quite good . . . because it is . . . but I wonder if you considered a much bolder crop. I think it might be something you would like to consider. An innovative crop here would eliminate the negative area, particularly prominant in the lower right foreground and accent the DOF and color even more. Anyway . . . just a thought. ;)
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
