About This was a CLOSE ENCOUNTER of the FURRED KIND! Our Lab was ALWAYS HUNGRY, and we had to be careful for they are prone to put the weight on, being a HEAVY 38 kg ( 83 lb ) breed.
You can see the pool that she just loved to swim in, whereas my GERMAN SHEPHERD wouldn't go near it!!
If anyone has nice pics or tales of either dog, I would be most grateful.

Hi Keith,
Yes they are a wonderful companion and pet. I was inconsolable when I lost mine a couple of years back. Toddie was a very strong dog. I was in the pool with her, trying to help her out of the deep end, she was dog paddling, one of her claws almost opened me up !! I miss her.
Thanks for your comment
JD

Hi Michele,
Love your Labrador too! Your 'pup' seems to have a longer snout than mine. Could be USA breeding vs OZ. I trained mine to walk unrestrained beside me, sit, heel, stay, crawl on HER tummy, all with hand signals, no voice.
I may have to take you under my wing...sleeping with a DOG?? Just kidding, they are GOOD company, aren't they?
Thank you for the kind note and response to my Toddie ( not a usual name for a LADY!)
Cheers
JD

My best friend was the runt of a litter of 13 ... I lost her 4 yrs. ago ... still haven't gotten over her.. She was like a puppy until she got hit by a car... she was a stick dog, and I had to tie her up to make her rest... she did not care about food would rather play ... she wieghed 50 lbs. at her heaviest, 8 yrs. old... everyone thought she was a puppy always... I LOVE, love, love labs!!!! Her Mom was Chocolate and she was black, ( so was her Dad) Attatching an image ..of course I thought she was beautiful... I took her swimming every day cause she slept with me too...

Your Lady looks very well mannered, and very pretty ... Oh and yep she ate the shingles off our house , the legs of chairs, and the sheetrock in the garage ... when I left her alone... ( she didn't like to be alone , ever) She was my best friend.
Thanks for letting me ramble .... hope I didn' bore you to death . . . .
I do love Shepherds too, sheesh I love them all!!!
Lovely Lady JD,
M~
