Thank you Doyle . You are correct , this was a somewhat difficult shot . I was happy that it worked out as well as it did .
Regarding CW ; well what can I say ? I guess you just never know eh ?

Thanks Ray . Yes , I "toned down" the moon just a touch to prevent it from burning out , so I could capture the colors in the sky .

Thanks Dave . I decided to "tone down" the brightness of the moon just a bit because in order to capture the colors in the sky , the moon was simply beyond the sensor's exposure capabilities . The blue that you see is actually fog that was lit up but the rising sun .

Nice Shot Rob! Exposure MUST have been absurdley difficult and yet handled quite well. I'm assuming you set the light levels independently . . . but quite well.

Note also that the comment by "Chuck & Donna", aka John and Tami aka Earl & Bonnie . . . are all one and the same and He is NOT new. http://www.usefilm.com/Photo_Forum/22/1013020/ for more info . . . I'd direct you to any of the numerous photos but each time they're commented on and busted they delete the photo. C.W. was just busted yesterday!

Nice to see Todd landed you guys on the front page with his FC . . . He's an amazing photog . . . and this is an amazing shot. Well done!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Great shot Rob, love the colour and composition. Was also wondering did you do anything for the moon to capture the detail.

Beautiful composition, it's nice how the foreground adds depth. The moon looks unusual. Did you selectively mask the moon to show the surrounding colors more effectively?

Imageopolis Featured Photo Critique Rob,

BTW, the purple band you have captured is often refered to as the Belt of Venus. It appears opposite the sun at sunrise and sunset. It is so named because Venus can be found there at those times when it is visible in the sky.

Thanks for your generous comments Chuck . I really appreciate it . This was actually a difficult shot to catpture , simply because I was not prepared for it , and the light was changing VERY quickly . About 30 seconds after this image was taken , the color was gone . Welcome to Usefilm ! I look forward to seeing your work . Take care .

Rob

Donna and I truly love this photo! As a brand new member I have seen quite a few shots like this where the contributor seems to be compelled to add too much sharpness in an effort, I suppose, to make the subjects "stand out" more.

In this case, your composition looks very natural and true to life, as if a vision we would typically see on a cool and clear Fall evening.

Superb job, Rob!

All our best, Chuck

Nice capture. I like the softness in the sky and the crispness of the silhouette. Well done.
