Amy, I think some fill flash would have helped seperate the horses head form the background.

The border does give this a commercial ad look but then that may just be the intent. The lack of sharpness on the main subject(s) is the only real problem I see. If sharper there would be better separation with the background. Nice point of view and focal length used. The light is perfect as well as the posing of the subjects.

It is a beautiful compoced foto, but I do agree with Ray, about the horse and baskground, and the border is not my style.
