Okay...in answer to everyones main question....I had 14 balloons and got 14 captures like this...all slightly different. It took about an hour to do the whole lot and was lots of fun. I shot this outdoors and only used natural lighting.

Thanks heaps for all of your comments.

Wonderful shot Judi, I always wanted to comment on this one at Sindbad, but didn't have the time, now is a good chance.
I like the way the water taking the balloon's shape, the lighting is perfect and it looks natural as well '' hence .. the lighting on the robe holding the balloon '', but what really makes this capture stands out beside the perfect timing, is the black background,
as usual, very well done dear,
Regards,

Cool shot - reminds me of some of the stuff Dan Lightner used to do. I like the way you have caught the water while it's still in the shape of the balloon. Did you use some sort of timing device?

John

Great timing Judi - wonder how many tries it took to get the perfect shot. I've seen slow motion video of a water balloon popping and I love how the water holds its shape for that split second like how you've captured. Excellent work!
