Now that is a different heron than the great blues from the wet coast. It does not seem to have the beard. I like the capture through the reeds, Dave. It makes the composition quite lively.

wow... you never cease to amaze me on how you get these close ups! (think I'm gonna save up for a bigger zoom lens!)
This is excellent... the detail here is so clear you'd think you were standing right next to this guy when you shot this! See.. well worth the venture out & the wasp sting! The things we do for our photography.. lol x
