Another beauty Craig!
I'm not sure if you saw but while on vacation I woke up at 5:20 am to catch the sunrise. I had missed photographing the sunset the night before so I decided to see the sunrise. It was well worth it. I was up, showered, and on the beach by 6 am. Not as early as some others but I was still impressed with myself, knowing I might receive some "I told you so" comments from ppl here on UF. haha

We live in Kanagawa-ken, not far from Aobadai (if this can give you an idea).We went to Moto Hakone last year in August and Fuji-san kept playing hide and seek with us. Then, we went again in December, on Christmas Eve, and IT treated us with a great majestic view!
But this summer, at Isehara (on the way to Odawara), I caught a sight of the mountain which is quite psychedelic, at a very great distance, in June. It is not a good shot photographically, so I cannot post it. There IT looks like a ghost!

Yes Gabriela. I took it last Thursday morning at 5:45 am. It's not so unusual to be visible, even in the summer from such a close distance so early in the morning. Of course in Tokyo you can hardly ever see Mount Fuji at anytime of day, except in Winter.

Is this a recent shot, Craig? 'cause it is rare to get such a clear view of Fuji-san in summer!I could never play anything on a lawn where the presence of Fuji-san would be such a disturbing presence!Of course, I like the shot, though I prefer the sunsets/sunrises when the light plays strangely on its silhouette.

how many different ways are there to shoot mount fuji? quite a few it seems from your portfolio. this one is particularly nice in that the mountain isnt the only point of focus in the frame.
thanks for the exposure of this nice mountain craig. its one place in japan i hope to get to someday soon.
