Oh no, nothing to be sorry, Giuseppe! Hey, I am a scientist! Headaches are my life! ;-)

Thank you very much for the explanations. I was really excited to know that there are swimming snails out there! I have seen often snails in the sea but they were always "going" on rocks under the water. I have never seen one swimming and that's why I am excited! Another astonishment for me about nature and life!

Cheers,

Nick

This is such a magical photo due to the layers of waterlilies, their "veins" that can be seen, the beautiful light and colours and the special snail moving about in the water. A very nice shot!
Best wishes,
Annemette

Nick your puzzle is probably due to the fact that we think to a snail as a terrestrial animal. But you saw an aquatic snail with her breathing mouth sideaway. The image is composed by four levels and the snail is swimming in the third, casting her shade on the last leaf.
Sorry for your headache!
Thanks.

Giuseppe

It is my second best of this group of four! A wonderful image, but also one that puzzles me very much! Is that snail moving upon the leaf, or is it swimming? It looks just as if doesn't touch the leaf at all. I never saw something like that before!

The image itself is very nice. The only thing that disrupts my eyes is that bit of "silvery layer" over the image, because it prevents me from being able to see better if the snail swims or not.

Ciao and keep it up!

Maurizio non è una normale lumaca, ma una lumaca d'acqua. Se guardi bene lateralmente si vede il bocchettone che le serve per respirare nell'acqua.
Grazie.
Ciao Maurizio.

You managed to create a surreal effect here, Giuseppe! Everything seems floating between light and shadow, and at the same time there is so much balance. You are a PAINTER here, no longer a photographer! My compliments!

Giuseppe, amazing photograph, so simple and bold! I like the strong shapes defined by lilipads and shadows. The snail is a bonus point of interest! The dark upper right and the snail in the lower left seem to anchor the composition. The blue/green tones add a surreal abstract element.
