About This image (1227) was shot in Ballard on 11 June 2006.

The blue is the late evening sky. The black is the silhouette of a building (an old Carnagy Free Library building). The streak of gold is a street lamp.

This image has only been shrunk and resized for upload and I have added the border.

I see I missed many wonderful creations from you, James. This is a beautiful abstract...seems so out-of-this-world...well done!

Hi James - meant it would look good on a living room wall as a piece of art. The smokey tones are great.
Regards Greg

Greg - Thanks. Um, I don't mean to appear daft, but, what wall?

Would be a great abstract for the wall. Nice tones and well broken with the light. Nice work.

Gayle - Thank you stopping by. I like the images in this series, but this one is unusual even among them in its subtleness. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Roger - Yeah, this one's pretty subtle. Bigger tells the tale better. Let me know.

Simple, with nice soft tones, and gentle movement. I saw your critiques on other people's photos and thought I would visit, James. This one makes me feel peaceful.

Ed - Thanks. The contours are a bit of luck. Not so easy to tightly control that aspect of my wiggle. The gradation of color is easier to work with when one region is black (silhouette of a building here) because more or less black just alters the tone. Enjoy.

Neat abstract, James! Very beautiful contours and fine gradation of tone and colour!

The gold line reminds me of the curve of a woman's abdomen and hip. Maybe I'm a sentimentalist, but I don't think I could bear to remove it. Maybe it should be titled "Nude Night Watch". Hahaha.

good one but a little bit dark. And I think that cropping the light line would be better.I mean only blue sky and black silhouette will be seen.Keep up luxagraphia

Kunal - Yes, all of my Luxagraphic images use camera motion (sometimes in combination with subject motion). You can read a little more here (and of course see more images):

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Very interesting capture. Love the concept. Can you elaborate bit more on how you captured this? If the streak of light is a street lamp, how its been a long streak vs. just a stationary light? Appear that you were moving with camera to have streak of light? Would love to know more about this image.
