great light in this photo! the spark lines effect is of course nice, but even better is the balance it makes with the sweet ambient light. the blurred face of the girl kind of annoys me. not that i don't like blurrings and distortions in photography :-P, but in this image i would like to see either a less blurred face or a different blurred effect or no face at all. i have shot similar pictures more than once and i know it's hard to keep the performers still. i can't afford much film so i rarely try more than a couple shots hoping for a keeper, but i usually choose to either exclude the face from the frame or -more often- go for a more abstract feel.
be happy Michael! :-)

Sara:

Yes, you are correct - I have some others where the blur is not noticable. This is hard because if I'm not moving, the children are, waving it around. This was not planned, but the fireworks were delayed so I decided to try some 1 - 2 second shots and a few had some interesting results. I'm going to post the ones where you can make out the children if I can get a permission from the parents. This shot was blurred enough where it still looked interesting but you could not make out the figure, so I thought it was safe enough to post.

hello Michael, this photo caught my eyes...it's so amazing...but how about keeping the girl not blurred?...this will make the photo more special...u know i think u moved ur hand a little while shooting...but as i can see it's somehow a fireworks...which means it's already moving..so u just have to take the pic and the fire works will do it all....what do u think??
after all ur photo is amazing

all the best

Wonderful motion capture. Your subject is kept clean and the spark-lines are distinct. Well done.
