I wouldn't go on the water anywhere near these animals especially considering there were crocodiles in this river as well, I was actually on the bank of the river in a submerged dock that had little windows you could look through to see under the water and if you are lucky, a hippo might happen by while you are there. As per the rest of my trip, I was very lucky.

These animals look so innocent but I hear they are quite dangerous. This one looks calm and pastel, although his hairy ear and beady eye are trained your way. Were you on the water? Cathy

I have to go to Africa some time soon. Another image with excellent sharpness and great composition. Hard to believe these are the most dangerous large animals in Africa (I guess not including the mosquito or humans).
