A beautiful environmental shot, Edward! I like the way you've included landscape, flora and fauna, all in the same image. Well done!
Dave.

Thank you for your comment Christine.

During the hot summer days, the animals look for any shade possible. One day we actually had a problem with a lion trying to find shade and would repeatedly lie down beside the truck every time we stopped.

All the best,
Ed

Thank you for your comment Angela.

I would guess it is the natural shape of the tree, the acacia tress tended to be fairly straight in the trunk.

All the best,
Ed

What a lovely travelogue picture. Nice DOF and great composition. The gazelle are beautiful and the tree amazing. Is that it's natural shape or has it been seriously pruned by those most elegant of large beasts? Until I lived in the country, I had no idea about the relationship of grazing animals to the shaping of a tree!
Answered already ?! Just read yours & Cathy's comments.

Thank you for your comments Cathy.

Thomson gazelle are actually one of the smaller species, about the size of a dog. But you are right; it probably is big enough for a giraffe.

All the best,
Ed

Nice shot. There aren't any other trees like this in the shot. It provides good shade for this lovely herd.
The foliage is so high. In my country if foliage is a metre from the ground you can guess sheep live there, 2 metres-horses or cattle. But surely this foliage is higher than even a tall giraffe? Cathy
