You are right, there is some toning there, probably as a result of the "Warm Up" PhotoShop filter. I like your version, but I don't know if I prefer it. They both seem to work for me.

Is this really a monochrome image? I think I see alittle toning in the cheeks......maybe it's my monitor...don't know.
I like the facial expression and the naturalness of the photo, but I'm distracted by the amount of "head" cropped out of the photo. If it were me, I'd either leave the head in or, more likely, crop it so it's anchored in the corner and not just floating on one side.
I think you've captured a great shot here, though.
