About 133 steps to beach or local nieghborhood street which would be N.21St. written on the concrete wall. It also holds this cliff up as well as adds an easier access.

that is really very nice, the shape of the stairs is unique, something that makes your image original, excellent shot my friend, nice tight frame on your subject too...
regards!

wow, michele - that sky!! gorgeous! i cringe when i see this many stairs, since i can't walk much (or climb at all). what does this look at? i mean, do you have a good photo of the beach, from the top or middle?

Michele:
Nicely off-centered composition. I would probably pull the focus to the N 21st written on the wall and get a deep DOF to pull as much of the scene into focus as possible. The brilliant blue sky is great--nicely done and the composition is very good too. I like the subject. (Which way to the elevator?)
Now-
...if the staircase is steep enough (this is not a critique of this photo but an unrelated thought the shot brings out) I would think you might be able to get a very cool shot from a low angle which includes a lot of sky. Your apt title made me think of that as a potential great shot in perspective. Might not be possible but it's just a thought the title and photo brought out in me.
-You've done this very well . . . and it provokes thought. Nice!

Regards,
Doyle I <~~~~~

Ahh Jim it's not so bad. It used to be straight up and down but too many others felt the same as you I guess . . ha !
Thanks for looking

Thank You Marlyce .... good critique ...I appreciate it very much. Mostly it's too cold the steps are fine with me, just grateful I can climb them !

Very interesting shot. In my opinion...you might want to try this again however, making the focal point more in the middle, not so much at the bottom. You blurred too much of the top. I am really glad I don't live there......to many steps for me.
