The flower was placed against a white background, exposure comp of +1 ev was used, crumpled tinfoil was used to reflect light onto the flower and then I just had to adjust levels a tad in PS and add the border.

I shoot against a white background.
I took photo's of just the white background to work out which combination worked best with the apeture I wanted.
Had to add +1.5 on the EV.
Joy of digital is it's easy to check and adjust as you work. Also I'm not terrible competent at PS. I can do levels and one or two minor things. I do use the optikvervelabs filters for different effects sometimes.

Nicely presented. I noticed your portfolio is filled with white background macros. Do you shoot them with a white background or are you removing the backgrounds in PS? They all look very good in this presentation.
