About A misty May morning about 6-30am. I had not long had a digital camera and walked down to Enniskillen Castle 10 minutes from my home . Alas the boat has now disappeared but I am still hoping to better it .

Wonderful shot, it has a story waiting to be told, the clarity of the forground against the misty background is fantastic. I can't think of anything to do to make it better,

cheers

wow. i really marvel at this wonderful shot. everything is so perfect..with the boat and swan so nicely positioned that people will think it's a posed shot. but really the whole dreamy feel really captivates me! great job! the technical aspect is so perfect too.

Hi Mavis, thank you for making me feel welcome and viewing my 1st image - Blackburnian Warbler.
This is such a beautiful and peaceful image! I can almost feel the cool, dampness which permeates the air. I will drop back to view more of your outstanding pic. as time and slow connect speeds permit.
Regards, Wayne

Mavis,,

This is the type of image that I strive for,, this is excellent,,

Thank you for your advice on my "Ladies Loo",, I have so many settings on my Nikon 5700 and I almost never use auto,, but I am having no sucess getting that WOW quality with any of my shots,, very frustrating,, Could be that I'm playing too much with the numerous settings,, then adjusting again in PhotoShop,, I'm a constant fiddler and don't know when to stop.

I try and tell myself that the Aussie sun is a harsh light and that's my current excuse,, (deep down I know it's not true all the time),,

I have had better sucess with indoor umbrella flash but still I can't get that wow quality,, :-(,,

Any advice would be most welcome,,
Col..

PS,, not home sick,, born and breed here in Aussieland.

Mavis, this is one of the most impressive shots here in usefilm. Everything is perfect and very well thinked. The boat in the foreground, the bird, the fog criating a misty atmosfere and the trees in the foreground are the big plus in this shot, near the perfect composition. 77777. One of my few favourites perfect shots.

Beautiful image, Mavis. I really love the mood in this shot. Very peaceful, serene looking shot. Photosig has become a bore, because not all the comments are good enough for its grading system. Sometimes you just want to tell someone that they have a gorgeous shot. And this is one time in which I have to say that. I love the reflections here. To be honest, it makes you want to jump on the boat and float off into the fog, possibly to some wonderful far off place. Wonderful composition, Mavis.--Regards, Jeremy

Mavis! Thank you for your welcome :)! I am glad to be here. Sig has just about done me in! The new system is very poor, and the new servers are not working at all....so I have migrated to several other spots. This one seems to be very nice. You are the only one to rank my photo so far, so I shall have to make myself known here. I am using the same camera, just learning more about what makes for a better photo. Thank you for your wonderful critique!
This photo is just lovely. This mist, the boat, the swan, all help to make it very special! The mist is what I like the best....it gives the whole thing a very ethereal feel. I love it! Ranae

Mavis, hope you will be posting more photos of Northern Ireland soon. My daughter and her husband have friends in Belfast, they were counselors with the Ulster Project of Milwaukee -- where 15 year old boys and girls, both Protestant and Catholic come to the US for the month of July to talk about peace and just get to know each other. My greatest joy was to take them to Ireland last year -- both the Republic and Northern Ireland to spend time with their friends and just generally to take in the beauty of the place. Ireland is full of the most friendly, down-to-earth, curious and beautiful people anywhere. I fantasize about spending a year or more there and one of my favorite websites is movetoireland.com. I just might do it. Oh, and I covet your camera, I'm a Fuji digital user and am saving my pennies for the S602 (would rather have the S2). It's amazing what I can get with my 2-year old 2MP Fuji. Again, great image, say Hi to St. Patrick for me, and I hope to see more of your wonderful photos soon.

Hi Mavis, How nice to see you here...this is just an excellent composition...the detail, reflections and and clarity is all good but in my opinion, it is the fog that is the oustanding capture...no noise to speak of ...just a beautifully seen and captured scene

Betsy Hern   {K:12872} 3/29/2003
Welcome. This reminds me of the romantic Irish legend of a beautiful maiden who spent one year in human form and alternate years in the form of a swan at her home in Newgrange. This photo would make a great illustration of a fairy tale. Lovely, mystical quality. Good eye.

Wonderful- Looks like a fairy-tale. I love the reflections and the saturation in the grass. I might desaturate or remove the red square on the boat's motor.
