A relaxed look, and the angles of his arms nicely draw the viewer's eye back to the face. Sharpness is not great, and the downward looking perspective makes it feel like more of a candid snap than a portrait. Your background is a little distracting, with that white post coming out of his head and the distracting confluence of wood and white post behind his head. A tripod might have helped you to slow down and plan this more carefully. Nevertheless, as a family snap it would be worth keeping.
