A nice composition that tells a story. That baby is very new to this world and it is nice to receive a kiss so early. I like the catch lights you added . I agree the mothers shoulder could be lighter but the black background works. NICE JOB

This is intimate and softly lit, Jennifer.
My only critique would be to lighten mom's shoulder a little, so baby isn't 'floating' but instead resting on something visible.

Hi Jennifer
Not a big portrait photographer myself so this is just my opinion.
I like the pose and composition.Black and white works well.The exposure on the baby may be a little more than moms which seems to bring out more detail in her skin. There is a little distraction just above the babies head at about 10 o'clock. The baby also seems a little soft(maybe due to movement) compared to mom.
Over all a good image that works well
