On the other side of this river, which you can wade across when the tide is out, there is a long sand spit about 500mtrs across, and on the other side is the Atlantic which goes right on out `till it reaches the U.S.of A. THe photo was taken from a pine forest which is overlooked by a Portuguese castle! An idyllic spot.
I'll echo AC's comment about the band of light at the top--I would crop this, and can even see cropping to horizontal 8x10 format from the bottom edge. I would also like to see critical sharpness in the tree, which may be there but is not evident on my monitor. Overall this is a very strong image--good composition and color.
I've got mixed feelings on this one Tony. Gut reaction; Dont like it but there is something here that I do like. i like the angle you chose and the placement of the tree top on the sand rather than the water. I like the feel of it and the rhymn or flow. I definitely dont like the band of sand across the top. I do like it with about 25% off the top.
