Your very first posting Maja and I see that your first visitor was my old friend Doyle. I can see what he means by de-centralising components of a photograph but I have to say I do break the rule of thirds from time to time.....what the heck, rules are there to be broken. You will find that I always comment on the positive aspects of a person's work, I am not qualified to tell anyone what they should have done. We all post our shots in the way that we perceived them to be good and that is not going to please everyone.
I think this was a lovely simplistic shot to open your account with, it is sharply focussed, has excellent texture to it and lovely natural tones. I am sorry I wasn't about to welcome you in but I am so happy to have found you now. I love your work sweetie. Oh, go on then Maja, have another great big HUUUUUUUUUG and some more best wishes........Ray

Very cool image Maja . . . I like this a lot . . . it has a feel of antiquity to it! I think, (my opinion) however, that a tighter crop to throw the peak up and right would have given this shot a much more dramatic impact. I would try to avoid making the center anything like a focus point. . . off center just seems to add a dynamic imapact. I'm attaching an example . . . and Welcome my friend to UF . . . I hope to see more work from you in the future. -wherever you are.
Regards, Doyle I <~~~~~
