Hi Marian, thanks again for so complimenting comment.
And I'm again very glad to see that you like the windmills too. And yes Laura grew up in a village called Nederland, founded by Dutch families. So she loved windmills.
Good luck and take care,

Klaas

Thanks Klaas for your description, well it could be nice but I hope I donćt bother you with too many questions. We would like to visit your beautiful country of course, but will probably have to wait until BiH enters EC...some time in far future...Till then we are always glad to see it in virtual edition.
Best regards

Prettige avond, Groeten,

Klaas

Next time I visit one, I'll take an inside picture for you, the light comes from several small windows, you can see them on the right side. there are 2 floors inside, but maybe there is a difference in other windmills, I only saw them with 2 floors.
You should come to Holland if possible and visit them, it's very interesting. I think Riny is busy with his chalet.
Best regards,

Klaas

Hi Klaas, That's not quite what I had in mind, I wasn't referring to the on-camera controls and menu, but to the possibility to tweak more using the camera wire, connected to your computer and uploading a different colour profile to the camera.

Nikon has a tendency to produce rather dark images (at least the D100 does, don't have that problem with the D2x), but I could upload a custom colour profile to the camera, based on an average tweak in contrast, saturation, etc, directly to the camera. I've never used Canon, so I don't know if that's possible. Maybe a question in the forum could help you there.

PS: thanks to adding me to your friends list, I'll return the favour, but I tend to comment on images randomly and I check the recent comments and CC area more frequently...:) Another thing: your "Dutch views" inspired (and still inspire) me, so I decided to start on a few Dutch landscapes myself...

Cheers,

Hugo

In fact I was wondering how it loooks like inside ..are there many floors ...or the stairs..
and how was the light inside regulated.I also expected your friend Riny's comment..although I suppose there is a lot of work to be done.
Have a nice evening

Thanks Doyle for your comment, I gave it a little bit more contrast, and the whole picture changed, so I see what you both meanth.

I see what you mean Hugo, I add a little contrast, and it looked better right away. I'm able to do something on the camera settings, I can change; sharpness, contrast, saturation, and colourtones.
All 2 steps - and 2 steps +. I did saturation 1 step up and contrast 1 step up. So we'll have to see what it brings. Hope it will be better.
Have a nice evening, and thanks a lot,

Klaas

Thanks Mary, you can go in and climbe to the top, were all the "tecnics" are hidden. It's very impressive to visit them and find out how everything works.
Take care, have a nice evening,

Yes Laura, your own windmill, you should come to Holland and visit the windmills, you'ld like it very much, lots of them you can see from bottom to top, and touch almost everything. They were used for many different things. I tried do dismantle, but they wanna lock me up in jail, I don't like it so I stopped dismantling, the cops told me Laura should visit Holland in stead of having their own stolen from Holland. (LOL). I'm a bit of tremandoes dreamer.
I'm glad you like it and lookning forward to the "American" windmill.
Take care,

Klaas

Beautiful . . . classic image Klaas! I loaded your image into my software and "Un-muted" it and Hugo's right . . . This is a stunning picture which is sort of hidden in these muted tones.

Hi Klaas,

I think the same approach I used with "haarzuilens" would fit here too. And while you're at it, have a go at removing that sign too, although that neasrs trickery.... Either way, I like this shot, a typical scene...

Another way, but I'm not sure if that's possible with the Canon (I think it is) is to tweak the in camera curves and settings using the brand specific software; up the brightness, saturation and contrast a bit, and you're there without having to rely on photo editing software...

I mean, your emages are good, and it's just a pity the beauty in them doesn't really show due to the muted tones...

Cheers,

Hugo
