Minter Gardens is in Canada. It's only about 45 minutes or so from here, across the Abbotsford crossing and then on Canada 1.
I've actually been pretty impressed with the lens. I'm looking forward to having a longer one, but even as is I've been thrilled with the camera!

Hi Sheila,
Thanks for the nice words. I am using the basic lens. Just as soon as I got the camera the "saving" process began. I will upgrade to a new lens...probably the one that Susie uses the most (55-135 I think it is). I am really loving the Rebel, just trying to figure it out. Susie is a huge help in the learning process, as you would expect. One day next month we are taking a day trip up to Minter Gardens. Can't wait!!!

How much do you love your new camera??? Getting shots like this make it awfully hard to put down...spot on focus, great composition and dof, awesome color, nicely framed too! Very nice Kathy.

Kathy, I find Rhodos hard to photograph because it is difficult to make a good isolation of a single blossom. Your's is great!

Hi Kathy and thanks for your critique on my first macro. I continue to play but am too lazy to dig out the tripod. (mostly too busy to do that)
So, looks like you got your Rebel in? And you are shooting away. Excellent close-up work with the 18-55mm. Very nice shot.
Can't believe your portfolio. So many great pictures with a point/shoot. You are going to go insane with the Rebel.

Nice rich colour in this one Kathy. I didn't even know what a Rhododendron was until I did a search on some white flowers I snapped in a garden in Boston. Now I recognized these right away. Just red, thats all :)
