Wow, I never could swim in icy water. But yesterday I made the first swim in our garden pond, with 18 degrees and after a bicycle tour;)

17 degrees is a lot! My daughter swims in a hole in the ice. She says that it leaves all the flus in the water. Today I noticed some winter swimmers when shooting, and their screams (women!) scared all the waterbirds away ... :(

Good morning, Elisa. Thanks for all your kind comments. We have had some beautiful days now and yesterday I was for the first time this year thinking of a swim. But 17 degrees prevented me for diving in;)

Regards, Markus

Hi, Riny. I think I know the reason now. Without much looking I took the pictures with ISO400 and this creates some noise. With my manipulations - sharpening, contrast, etc. - I probably increased the noise even more. I have now a revised version attached.

Thanks, Riny. Now that you say it I see it too. It's not in the original and I have to investigate what the reason might be.

Thanks, Josep, very kind from you. The picture from my bio comes from our ship cruise in Russia last year, where I was playing the Neptun and the girls to my right were some of the Russian tour guides.

Regards, Markus

Josep

Well just plain: Wood Anemone... ;-D And aren't they just lovely... those pretty yellow stamen against the white petals... very well captured Markus!! Even though it's taken in bright sunlight you've managed to avoid overexposure, wonderful details, excellent DOF and composition, great against that dark green background... BTW I have to keep up my reputation with a name like mine, now do I... LOL!!!
