My version (from last summer)

But I think I like yours better - the hut as subject with a contrasty background. Nicely shot.

Dennis, lovely landscape with the foreground structure uniting earth and sky. Although it does not appear to distract from the intent of the photo, I do notice vignetting, possibly from the polarizing filter. Eb

Hi Jon,
I noticed that you're a prairie person from your profile. Thanks for the comments. On this photo I did very little enhancing in the computer. My skies get that deep blue for two reasons - first I often use a polarizing filter when shooting outside, and second I use slide films that tend to saturate the colours somewhat (for years I shot Kodachrome, now I've switched to Fuji Velvia). It's amazing to meet someone on UseFilm who has been to this very place and also taken pictures of it. Have you posted any?

So that's what that is! I have some shots of it taken from the road behind the Retreat, as part of a larger scenic, and wondered what it was supposed to be. Again - great sky. Are you tweaking the colours in the computer?

Hi Debasish,
Lately I've been thinking I could use a wider lens - this would have been my Canon 35-105mm set at 35mm. I'm thinking something in the 15-20mm range would have worked well with this scene. Thanks for the comment.

What a wonderful landscape with that cute prayer hut. So minimalistic! Ideal place to be with one's self and God. Excellent landscape. Dennis, I would prefer use of much wider lens in such composition giving the same size to the hut. Best wishes.

Hi Dennis,
Very nice landscape. The composition, with the inclusion of the distant trees, tells us where the material from the hut came from. The sticks connect the earth and heavens by reaching from the ground to the sky. Nice work!
Best regards, Kes
