Bill thanks for your comments.I have just posted a pic which takes on board some of your suggestions.This tree has been photographed more times than President Bush and whilst I havemost of thetraditional and cliched shots I have ben playing about to "try something different"

Hi Danny: A few comments... The shot is a great idea... Go back out and recompose the shot, giving the landscape and the lonely tree more of the framing. The sky and clouds over-power the "main subject"...the tree. You may also like to place the tree and valley off-center left or right. I would choose a different frame... the "white" is distracting, and pulls the eyes off the subject...the photo. This is IMHO...

A great composition Danny - one that could render great images with different light conditions. The sky is great except for a few burnt-out areas. Lovely deep blues. A well balanced photo which could have even more impact with a clear sky directly behind the sycamore. Great place - hope we see this spot again!
