About Shot this one with my tripod on a garden-table and with self-timer to prevent any movement. First I tried on automatic, but you could only see a lightbulb, then I tried with the shutter on 1/500, because I tried that before, and there were the details.
I like to hear wat you think of this one.

This is also a great shot. I have a 75-300 IS lens which I have had great success with especially at air shows.

Thanks Bill, I did a shot from the garden table with the selftimer just to prevent any movement.
The sky was very clear and I set the shutterspeed on 1/500. After that I cropped most of the black off to make the moon look bigger. Thats about all I did.
By the way, I sold the 75-300 and bought the 70-200 L f/4 lens, because the results are much better with that one, but maybe the 100mm more weren't so bad after all. I did a moonshot with that one too, take a look and let me know what you think of that one. http://www.usefilm.com/image/1271906.html
I can recommend the 70-200, it's a beauty and not too heavy.
Take care,

Klaas

Very nice shot of the moon. I am little surprixed that you can do this well with a 300mm lens. I am using a 170-500mm Sigma lens with a 2X extender and yours are coming out better than mine. BILL NAGY

Klaas   Baas Klaas  Baas   {K:15111} 2/18/2007
I'm not the only one who misunderstands I see, hard... not me my dear.
Thinking I know you better doesn't fit the question "I know nothing about you" anyway.
Please lets stop it, because this is becoming really something out of nothing.

Wow Klaas, how hard are you !!! I thought you knew me better !!! How are you or do not know nothing about you ... uf ... I would be more specific next time !!! SORRY !!!

Klaas   Baas Klaas  Baas   {K:15111} 2/18/2007
Thanks for thinking about me Srna, lets keep it a misunderstanding from my side, but try to be specific, because knowing nothing about someone or just asking how are you..... are two different thing my dear. No hard feelings anyway.
Ofcourse all the best to you too,

Klaas

my question that i do not know nothing about you was the simple question Klaas !!! but you seems a little bit strang to me ... i thought it is normal to ask you how are you lately cause i am just that kind of persion...i do not forget my friends...sorry you think that i am making something of nothing...and it is deffinetly misunderstanding !!! and i feel bad about this, but never mind ... forget about it and i hope it would be like it was.
all the best to you Klass,
Srna

I was only asking what you menth about your question
that you know nothing about me, no one said anything about something should be wrong with that, you have to read it the way it is, you make something out of nothing. No hard feelings, but this lead to nothing.
Nothing is wrong... I do not think bad about you, maybe a misunderstanding???? but where did it go wrong.... Let's just go on the way it was.
All the best and warm regards,

Klaas

Hi Klaas,
Thanks for sharing & commeting.Im not sure about the shutterspeed changes in cybershot.i guess will have to take it from a professional camera with wideangle lens. I'll try ur suggestions too.
once again, all d very best!!

Thanks for visiting and commenting Jennifer, I'm happy to see that you like it, but I did it with a 300mm lens. After that I changed the canvas so the moon looks bigger than the original one, and I tried different shutterspeeds. I don't know if you could change your shutterspeed with a cybershot, but if you can you should try a few different speeds to see the results. I'm flattered by your comment.
Take care,

Klaas

Thanks Laura, perhaps try it with the shutterspeed I used on this one, and iso speed too on 400.
I tried faster shutterspeeds but then it's to dark, slower and you see only a sort of a lightbulb.
Succes.
Good luck,

Klaas

Groeten,

Hugo

Hi Dragos, thanks for your kind words on this one.
I 've tried it before on different iso speed and different shutterspeeds, but 400 iso and 1/500 works the best, at least that's what I think. Maybe this evening, or else tomorrow we will have full moon.
I will try it again then.
Thanks again, and have a nice easterweekend.
Take care,

Klaas

not a bad one Klaas I mean for astrophotography, plenty of details. I will try to take a shot too. I need only clear sky 'cause around here it's kind of rainy.
Congrats for the picture and take care
Best regards,
