I never thought that springs on a diesel locomotive would make me say, "Cool!" but this photo did just that. ) Your focus and exposure are really nice in this shot. Susie

Hi Don, a very well captured image; excellent textures and very lifelike materials. Also, it's an interesting part of the technology behind it; two types of springs (three, if you think a bit more creatively) the break, and the section of the wheel. Well done.
Just wondering; I think the bit of grass in front is a bit distracting, and although it creates a nice contrast of nature versus technology I think capturing a bit more of the hydrolic system on top would add more to this image; I think I'd chose a pure focus on technology above the contrast.
The alignment of the suspension beam with the track is a good touch, though. It creates a bit of puzzlement, as if the loc is suspended on that bit of metal, if you see what I mean. Maybe a bit far fetched, but it's just a minor surprising thing I noticed...
Nice shot!
Cheers,
Hugo

Nice iron, Don. I like the splash of green here and there. We are on the same track - I've got some recent train shots too! Ha! I'll post one or two sometime.
