Like much of the other work that Ive posted the original of this image was a little washed out in terms of contrast and colour. With this one I have tried to improve these factors rather than stay close to the original print. Forgive the imperfection of the print it is currently being reprintd minus the blemish in the lower left quadrant.
Overall a good improvement in the shot. Lot of white like that can really throw off the meter in even the best camera. Maybe try about two stops of exposure compensation dialed in and shoot again. This will make the snow brighter on the negative and your print back will not be washed out.
Andrew, I like this photo and I understand the difficulties of low light and misty scenes, especially when its below zero, your eyes are watering and fingers are cold! But, ya gotta get points just for being there, keep on!
